Be True to Yourself

Do you have the same problem that I do when telling people where I’m going for vacation? “Oh, you have to go here” or “you have got to do this when you are in this city”. I know these people mean well, but those locations may be great for them, but ask yourself, are they great for you? Perfect example was when we went to London, people were telling us that we had to do the London Eye, the big Ferris wheel on the Thames. Problem was for us that there was so much we wanted to do and not nearly enough time to do it all. We prioritized what was important for us and waiting in line for at least an hour to be crammed into a pod that would go around for a while just didn’t seem to be a top priority. Next time we go to London, maybe we hit that spot, but be true to yourself and prioritize what you want to do. That will make your vacation a memorable one.

How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential

Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.

Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.

Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.

City Spotlight: Orlando, Florida

While known for a certain mouse, Orlando's identity as a world-class family destination extends far beyond any single castle. It's a city drenched in sunshine and packed with diverse adventures, from deep space to the deep sea. Let’s break down the "other" Orlando using the tried and true 5 W’s in helping families decide if this is the next vacation destination.

Who should go to Orlando?

If your family is looking for an action-packed Florida vacation filled with unique theme parks, animal encounters, and hands-on fun, Orlando is for you. This is a perfect trip for families wanting to experience the thrill of the city while exploring a different side of its famous entertainment scene.

When should we go?

Orlando's sunshine is plentiful year-round, but planning is key. Summer brings intense heat and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. For more comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are ideal. The time is perfect right now in early September, as the summer crowds have thinned and the weather is beginning to cool slightly.

What should we do?

Orlando’s world of entertainment is vast. Here are just a few ideas with links to their websites for more information.

  • SeaWorld Orlando: Dive into an amazing park that blends thrilling roller coasters with incredible marine life. See majestic orcas and playful dolphins, get up close with penguins and sharks in arctic exhibits, and then ride some of Orlando's most exciting coasters, like Mako and Manta.

  • Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex: A must-do for any family. Located just an hour from Orlando, this is the hub of American space exploration. Stand in awe of the sheer size of a Saturn V moon rocket, see the actual Space Shuttle Atlantis, and experience a simulated shuttle launch.

  • Gatorland: For a taste of "Old Florida," visit the "Alligator Capital of the World." This classic park is more than just gators; it features a thrilling Screamin' Gator Zip Line that soars over alligator marshes, a petting zoo, and fun, family-friendly shows. It's a unique and affordable Orlando experience.

  • ICON Park: This entertainment complex on International Drive is a destination in itself. Soar 400 feet into the air on The Wheel for incredible city views, explore underwater tunnels at the SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, or challenge your perceptions at the Museum of Illusions.

Where should we eat?

There’s a fantastic food scene to explore outside the big resorts. Here are a few favorites.

  • Hash House A Go Go: Bring your appetite! Known for its "twisted farm food" and gigantic portions, this restaurant on International Drive serves up huge pancakes, towering sage fried chicken and waffles, and other inventive comfort food. It's a fun and memorable meal.

  • Boxi Park Lake Nona: For a casual and lively evening, check out this unique outdoor venue built from shipping containers. With a variety of food stalls, live music, a playground for the kids, and even a dog park, there’s a relaxed vibe and something for everyone.

  • 4 Rivers Smokehouse: When you need a break from the parks, this local Florida chain is the perfect spot for award-winning barbecue. Its casual, counter-service style makes it a quick, delicious, and family-friendly choice for lunch or dinner.

  • The Glass Knife: For a beautiful breakfast or a decadent dessert, this stylish cafe is a must-visit. Known for its exquisite cakes, pastries, and gourmet donuts, it's the perfect spot for a special family treat.

Why Orlando?

The question should be why not? Orlando proves that its world-class entertainment options are incredibly diverse. A family can spend one day learning about space travel, the next zip-lining over alligators, and another marveling at marine life. For a vacation filled with variety and adventure beyond the expected, Orlando delivers in countless surprising ways.

Travel Hacks

  • Mark your luggage or backpack as fragile. Yes it will be treated more carefully, but the fragile baggage is stored at the top and the first to come off the plane.

  • Take a photo of a local map with your phone before leaving your hotel. Most phones can let you zoom in and spot different areas with no problem.

  • If you are traveling with a pet, just keep in mind that dogs are more likely to get motion sickness than humans. Don’t feed them a big meal before a long drive, save it until after you arrive.
