In need of a show to watch?
Over the course of this newsletter, I have shared some thoughts about travel such as what tools are helpful, what to do with family at airports, and other hopefully helpful pieces. This week I wanted to take a moment to recommend a show that you can watch with your family and get ideas of where to go as well as where to eat. On Netflix the show “Somebody Feed Phil” is in its 8th season. It’s my favorite show on television and Phil Rosenthal is one of the people in this world I look up to the most. His focus on kindness and positivity is a refreshing and welcome attitude in today’s culture. Spend 45 minutes watching an episode and you’ll find that those 45 minutes become 5-6 hours of binge watching. It’s worth the investment of your time.

City Spotlight: Boston, Massachusetts
The city that sparked a revolution, home to legendary sports teams, and a hub of history and education, Boston is brimming with culture, charm, and countless opportunities for families to discover. Let’s break Boston down using the tried and true 5 W’s in helping families decide if this is the next vacation destination.
Who should go to Boston?
If your family enjoys stepping back in time, walking historic streets, and experiencing a city with a strong sense of identity, Boston is an excellent choice. It's also a fantastic destination for families who love sports, museums, and delicious New England cuisine.
When should we go?
Spring and early fall offer pleasant weather ideal for walking the Freedom Trail and exploring the city's outdoor spaces without the summer crowds or intense heat. Summer is vibrant, with numerous outdoor events, but can be hot and busy. While winter can be cold and snowy, the city has a cozy charm and offers unique seasonal activities.
What should we do?
Boston has so much to offer. Here are just a few ideas with links to their websites for more information.
The Freedom Trail: Follow the red-brick path that winds through downtown Boston, leading to sixteen significant historical sites, including Paul Revere's House, the Old North Church, and the site of the Boston Massacre.
Fenway Park: Catch a game or take a tour of America's Most Beloved Ballpark, home to the Boston Red Sox. Even non-baseball fans will appreciate the history and atmosphere of this iconic stadium.
Museum of Science: With interactive exhibits covering everything from dinosaurs to the human body to outer space, this museum offers engaging learning experiences for kids of all ages.
New England Aquarium: Located on the waterfront, the aquarium features a giant ocean tank with sharks, sea turtles, and hundreds of other marine animals, as well as playful penguins and fascinating exhibits on local ecosystems.
Where should we eat?
Boston boasts a diverse culinary scene. Here are a few family-friendly favorites:
Quincy Market: A historic marketplace with a wide array of food vendors, offering everything from clam chowder and lobster rolls to international cuisine, ensuring there's something to please every palate.
Mike's Pastry or Modern Pastry: Engage in the great Boston cannoli debate by trying these famous Italian bakeries located in the North End. Both offer a tempting selection of pastries and treats.
Legal Sea Foods: A Boston institution known for its fresh seafood. Their casual atmosphere and kids' menu make it a great option for families looking to enjoy New England's coastal flavors.
Flour Bakery + Cafe: For delicious breakfast pastries, sandwiches, and sweets, Flour is a popular spot with multiple locations. Their sticky buns are a must-try!
Why Boston?
Boston provides a captivating blend of history, culture, and modern vibrancy. From walking in the footsteps of the nation's founders to cheering on world-class sports teams and exploring engaging museums, a family can create lasting memories in this dynamic and walkable city.
Travel Hacks
If you are driving and need a restroom, find the nearest hotel. Their bathrooms are much cleaner than any gas station.
If you are on a cruise and in need of a spa day, book it when your boat is in a port. Usually they have deals and there will be more available times as well.
If you are traveling with a pet, make sure you have a copy of their vaccination record with you. Most hotels, airlines, and travel operators will not accept them without it.
